The practice started in Great Dunmow at the turn of the century, moving from the High Street to its new purpose-built premises in 1986.
We are a seven-doctor dispensing practice in this semi-rural market town.

DISABLED ACCESS
There is disabled access at the surgery. The pathway from the car park adjacent to the surgery has a slope but no steps. Cars bringing patients with poor mobility to the surgery can use the
surgery car park. All patient areas and treatment rooms within the building are accessible by wheelchair. There are disabled toilet facilities.
HOSPITAL TRANSPORT
We are advised daily of missed hospital appointments. If you have problems attending the hospitals the following may be of use to you:
NHS transport, car or ambulance can be provided free of charge should the doctor consider it medically necessary.
Uttlesford Community Travel Scheme may be able to help. Telephone 01371 859559 between 1.30 and 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
For the elderly, the local taxi companies take Travel Tokens in payment.
Essex Busline 0870 608 2608 7.00am - 8.00pm. Local rate telephone helpline to advise which bus to use, when and where, to get you to your hospital appointment.

Practice News and Notices
Patients please note that from the 1st of September 2004 patients will not be able to order repeat prescriptions by telephone. Patients will be able to order repeat prescriptions by post, by hand, by Fax, or by using the on-line Repeat Prescription request form, and for Dunmow patients by using the repeat ordering system used by the local chemists. Please note that the latter system takes 3 working days for your prescription to be ready. If patients have a problem with medication they can ring the surgery and leave a message with the receptionists. The dispensary staff will ring patients back with any answers to their queries after 12.00.
