Childhood Vaccinations

Routine childhood vaccinations are a simple, safe and effective way of protecting children against harmful childhood diseases. Providing the child and parents are well and not displaying symptoms of coronavirus or other infections, children should have routine childhood immunisations as normal. The practice are taking the appropriate measures to minimise the risks by reducing people coming into the surgery. Please book an appointment if notified. It's important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but if you or your child miss a vaccine, contact your GP to catch up.

Travel Vaccines & Advice

The nurses are able to offer current travel advice re: vaccinations necessary to visit other countries. Vaccines recommended by the NHS are readily available. We also do all children's immunisations. Also available if required, but subject to a fee, are the following:

Hepatitis B, Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, rabies vaccine, meningitis vaccine (for travellers) and malaria tablets.

Please collect a Travel Form from reception and return the completed form. After seven days contact the surgery for confirmation of what vaccines are required.

Please could you complete and return your travel risk vaccination form, at least 6 weeks prior to your travel.

Private Medicals

The doctors are often requested to carry out medical checks for patients. These are in addition to their normal consultancy hours and therefore are fitted in by the doctors, usually before a normal surgery. Please telephone well in advance to book a medical so that a convenient time can be arranged. Please also enquire whether a fee is payable (Insurance medicals are usually paid for by the insurance companies). If a fee is due please come in before booking the medical.

Patients Over 75 Years of Age

Patients over the age of 75 years can request a health check, which will be carried out by a nurse. Please advise the receptionists when requesting a health check so that they can allow sufficient time with the nurse, and tell you what you need to bring with you.

Dietetics

An NHS dietician runs a clinic at the surgery, please call to confirm her clinic dates.
