Secretaries, Receptionists and Dispensers

Our Administration staff are here to help you with: making appointments, repeat prescriptions, general enquiries, taking messages, giving pathology results.

Practice Nurses

All the practice nurses are nursing sisters (SRN) and undertake the following:

  • Blood tests, which must be taken before 11.00am to enable samples to go to the hospital pathology department that afternoon.
  • Family planning, asthma checks, routine medical screening, adult/child immunisations, ear syringing, wound dressing, removal of stitches, weight loss advice etc.

Patients are now able to self-refer to either:

  • Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow or,
  • Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.

Please ask at reception for those details.

If you would prefer to be referred to The Rosie at Addenbrookes Hospital,  you will need to make an appointment with your GP.

Patients may use the hospital of their choice.

A group of midwives look after patients in the area and have weekly clinics and classes at the Dunmow Clinic on New Street. Patients can contact them at the clinic. Also based at the clinic are the health visitors, who will be able to assist and advise patients with the care of their children, up to age of five years.

Violent & Abusive Patients

The surgery has a policy of "zero tolerance" to violent, aggressive or abusive behaviour, whether physical or verbal, towards our staff.

Patients who are persistently violent or abusive may be asked to register at another surgery.

Our practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we are meeting essential standards of quality and safety.

This widget provides a summary of the results of the latest checks carried out by the CQC.
